National Endowment for the Humanities Grant

Deadline: May 14, 2009

The National Endowment for the Humanities is accepting applications for the Preservation Assistance for Smaller Institutions grant program. The goal of the Preservation Assistance Grants is to help institutions improve their ability to preserve and care for their humanities collections (this includes special collections of books and journals; archives and manuscripts; prints and photographs; architectural and cartographic records; decorative and fine arts; textiles, archaeological, and ethnographic artifacts; and historical objects).

Gale/Library Media Connection TEAMS Award

Deadline: June 15, 2009

The Gale/Library Media Connection TEAM Award recognizes and encourages the critical collaboration between the teacher and media specialist to promote learning and increase student achievement. Three grants of $2,500 will be awarded.

Lois Lenski Covey Foundation Grants

Deadline: June 15, 2009

The Lois Lenski Covey Foundation, Inc. annually awards grants for purchasing books published for young people preschool through grade 12. Grants for 2009 will range from $500 to $3000 and are specifically for children’s book purchases rather than administrative or operational uses.
