ProQuest

Whether you want to compare TV brands or study rocket science, ProQuest provides fast, full-text popular or scholarly journal articles at your fingertips by adding thousands of dollars worth of journals to your collection.

ProQuest offers full-text journal and magazine articles from over 2,200 sources. It contains popular titles, such as Consumer Reports and Popular Science, as well as scholarly and trade journals. It covers a wide variety of topics from 1986 to the present, making it a powerful research tool for ages high school through adult.

For school libraries, ProQuest enhances research, allowing access to journals otherwise unavailable. It supports student research projects with scholarly journals and provides professional reading materials for educators.

For public libraries, ProQuest fills patron information needs by providing product reviews and finding material for professional and recreational needs.

ProQuest allows users to search, e-mail, print or save articles. Users can create Alerts or RSS feeds to have articles sent to them when new content is added. Creating a “My Research” account allows users to save their research for the searching session, and create a bibliography or web page.

Direct access is available from the South Dakota State Library website within libraries in South Dakota, and 24/7 access is available to citizens from home with a library barcode and password.
