Frances Henne/YALSA/VOYA Research Grant

The Young Adult Library Services Association is offering the Frances Henne/YALSA/VOYA (Voice of Youth Advocates) Research Grant for 2012. This grant of $1000 provides seed money for small-scale projects that will encourage research that responds to the YALSA Research Agenda. For more information: www.ala.org
Sara Jaffarian School Library Program Award for Exemplary Humanities Programming
Deadline: Dec. 15, 2012
This annual award goes to a school library that has conducted an exemplary program or program series in the humanities during the prior school year. It consists of (1) a $4,000 cash award; (2) a plaque; and (3) the promotion of the winner as a model program for other school libraries. For more information: www.ala.org
National Endowment for the Arts: Big Read
Deadline: Feb. 5, 2013
The Big Read, an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts, is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations and public libraries to develop community-wide reading programs between September 2013 and June 2014. The Big Read is designed to revitalize the role of literature in American culture and to encourage reading for pleasure and enlightenment. For more information: www.neabigread.org
